Satsangs
“It is the word which was the beginning of creation, and it is the word which opens the mystery of creation. The different centres of intuition, of inspiration, of evolution are touched by the sacred word.”
~ Hazrat Inayat Khan
The literal translation of the word satsang stems from the Sanskrit term “sat”, which means truth, and “sanga”, which means company. Hence, the intention in satsang is to dwell in the company of divine truth. The purpose of such gathering is to uplift the soul to a realm of higher state of consciousness through chanting, meditation and/or the study of spiritual text. When a group of people gathers to chant the name of sacred deities, divine grace showers and blesses each participant with the bliss of oneness. The constant repetition of these names accompanied by melody and musical instruments helps to clear the clutter of the mind. Chanting sacred words is a doorway to inner freedom, wholeness and well-being. Satsang also helps to build the roots of a strong spiritual community in which everyone is welcomed and honored!
Maryse and Pierre have been hosting satsangs for over a decade. The chanting is accompanied by different instruments, such as guitar, harp, oud, bouzouki and percussion… along with the sweet blanket of silence and meditation.
